Manganese Bronze Sand Castings

Leitelt Brothers designs and manufactures manganese bronze sand castings known for their high quality and superior workmanship.

Manganese bronze and white manganese bronze alloys are comprised of:

  • 55 to 65% Copper (Cu)
  • 20 to 25% Zinc (Zn)
  • 1 to 5% Manganese (Mn)
  • 1 to 5% Iron (Fe)

These alloys have good corrosion resistance, high strength, high wear, and good mechanical properties.

Leitelt Brothers manufactures three common grades of manganese bronze alloys:

  • CA86300  (424) High Strength - 110, 000 Tensile
  • CA86500  (421) High Strength - 65,000 Tensile
  • CA99700 (Tombasil) White Manganese Bronze

CA86300 Typically used for screw down nuts, slow-speed, heavy load bearings, gears and cams.

CA86500 Typically used for propellers, machinery parts substituting for steel or malleable iron

CA99700 Typically used for ornamental castings, marine hardware, and excellent corrosion resistant.
