Custom Industrial Valve Castings
Sand casting allows us to create complex designs that include internal cavities ideal for fluid control. It is well suited to valves, valve bodies, pumps, and individual components of each.
Our Capabilities
Leitelt Brothers can create pump and valve castings in sizes ranging from an ounce to 350 pounds. We use a variety of aluminum, brass, and bronze alloys to create valves with the desired mechanical properties.
Our casting process allows us to create single parts or runs of several thousand. Once a pattern is completed, we can scale production to meet your needs. We specialize in mid-size production runs of several hundred to a thousand pieces.
Valve and Pump Materials
Aluminum pump castings are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and machinable. Our aluminum alloys include 319, 356, and ALMAG 535. These have excellent characteristics for casting and allow us to produce durable valves and housings.
Brass is a desirable metal for pumps and valves. It is strong and can withstand high temperatures. Brass is commonly used for water fittings because it can be lead-free and meets standards established under the U.S. Safe Drinking Water Act.
Bronze is harder than brass, yet retains many of the same desirable characteristics. It produces highly durable valves and pumps, which are suitable for heavy-duty and industrial applications. Bronze valve castings are common in marine, petrochemical, and agricultural industries.
